Dubbed 'spike', this typeface was a conversion of sans serif Helvetica to a slab serif one. The design was intended to reflect purpose and strength, and might be used in relation to headline text for sports writing.
'Barcode' was aimed at the entertainment industry, where its bold proportions and weight would count in making it an eye-grabbing design.
The 'Arcana' typeface was designed for a brief set by the clothing brand, Arcana; a minimalist futuristic clothing company aimed at a younger market. It felt appropriate to make this typeface a very thin and angular sans serif to enhance the modernity of the client's product.
These elaborate letterforms were designed to reflect the initials of two friends. It took inspiration from the heavily adorned first letters that begin pages in religious books of the Middle Ages. The colour palette was intended to be modern and vibrant to contrast against the more serious shape and lines created by the serifs.
A group of traditional fair ground typefaces that were personal projects inspired by the author's grandfather's profession as a sign writer. The author particularly enjoyed the use of embellishment and cheerful colours to embody a sense of old fashioned fun that would typically be seen at a carnival or fun fair.
